You have to bring a claim within certain time limits.
Breach of contract or negligence
If you have a claim which is based on breach of contract or negligence you must bring your claim within six years of the date of the breach of contract or the date of the negligent act.
Time limits in employment cases are much shorter. For example a claim for unfair dismissal has a time limit of three months less one day from the date of your last day of employment.
